How to tell if you are the facilitator
When you are young, your aunts and uncles will ask you what you want to be when you grow up. It’s a rare child who says, ‘I want to be a facilitator’. Facilitation is more something you gradually discover and can get drawn to. ‘Oh, that’s facilitation. Yes, I can see how that makes a difference. And I seem to be able to do it.’
If there’s a group of people in the pub, chances are that one of them will be the unofficial facilitator, helping the conversation along. If it happens to be you, consider it an offer of a professional prospect. On the other hand, if you alone are contributing all the brilliant ideas to the conversation, it’s probably time for you to launch your internet start-up.
If you are a natural facilitator, that’s great. And here’s how you can get even better at it – develop your professional skills on our Advanced Facilitation course. Details below.
