Events, away days & facilitation

Conference & Workshop Design Clinics

You have a meeting, conference session, workshop or learning event to design. You know the topic. You may know the speakers, the agenda and the time available. The question is how to fully engage people and produce useful outcomes. Bring the draft. We’ll help you make it stronger.

When this is useful

Give us a call when you are designing:

A conference session

A leadership away day

A stakeholder workshop

An internal learning event

A team meeting

A strategy session

A participative keynote

An online or hybrid workshop

A complex agenda with too many inputs

A session where people need to contribute, not just listen

What happens

We improve the design before people are in the room. That may include:

Sharpening the purpose

Choosing the right participants

Reducing unnecessary content

Turning presentations into working material

Designing better questions

Improving the flow

Creating useful participation

Planning breakouts that have a real job

Using the knowledge already in the room

Ending with clearer action or transfer

This is a focused design clinic: practical, collaborative and immediately useful.

Designing for participation

The Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre has the enviable reputation of running the most interesting sessions at the annual Climate Talks – you know, the ones where the world negotiates on how to save us from climate change.

For several years, we’ve been advising them on how to design their programme to be as participative and effective as possible.

That means shaping each session to create the maximum flow of knowledge in the minimum time, introduce facilitated processes for generating new ideas, and ensuring that all the knowledge in the room is focused on practical outcomes for a world in desperate need.

Bring us the draft

Tell us what you are designing, who will be there and what you need the session to achieve.
